No is temporary, Yes is forever. #golang

Talking with my friend about getting new assignments at work, I’ve remembered one phrase from spf13’s presentation about Golang¹: no is temporary, yes is forever.

This principle should be applied in our everyday life. It doesn’t need to be so damn hard to refuse. I am angry with myself sometimes because I didn’t take my time to think it more thoroughly before saying the “yes” word. I know that I don’t have time to finish the work, but psychologically we like to say yes, to please everybody.

Saying no is an art, and that’s fucking true.
