Job promotion is evaluated by expertise, not studies
I told you the other day that I resigned from my current job. Now, I'm happy that the management approved that one of my workers, which is not an engineer, will take my place as a shop floor supervisor. This shows the other employees that working hard and getting involved will be rewarded.
The other guy who has been proposed for the job is an engineer and is now outraged. How is this possible?
When you don't bother to do things outside your comfort zone and show interest in what needs to be done, or you're just comfortable knowing your small work area, others will overtake you.
